WELCOME TO SLEEPINGTREE

Sleepingtree Native Plants is owned and operated by Jeff Evans, a horticulturist educated at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Jeff began propagating plants in 1982 while working as a Forester for the Peace Corps in Costa Rica. Later, as a horticulturist for the University of California-Berkeley he propagated plants native to the western United States. He continued this work with the National Park Service at Glacier National Park, where he and his colleagues researched and published protocols for the propagation of over 200 species of plants native to the Rocky Mountains. This work is referenced by restoration biologists throughout the intermountain western United States. Jeff then furthered his work as a private sector Botanist in Colorado, propagating plant materials from all the major drainages of the state. Moving to NW Montana in 2003, he started Sleepingtree Native Plants, dedicated to the production of high quality native plant materials for use in riparian and ecological restoration, mining reclamation projects, and as nursery liner stock.
